Lighting design
A room-by-room plan: where the pools of light fall, where the shadows rest. Sketches you can hold, not jargon.

We design light,
not just wiring.
Lueur is a small Gatineau studio of electricians who think like lighting designers. We plan every room in layers — ambient, task, accent — so your home glows the way it should at 7pm in February.

What we do
Every room, lit in three layers.
Most homes have one switch per room and live with it. We design ambient, task, and accent light together — then wire it properly.
Dimming & scenes
Every light on a dimmer. One-tap scenes — dinner, reading, winding down — from a switch that makes sense.
from $180 / room
Warm retrofits
We replace cold, flat LEDs with warm 2700K sources and fix the glare. Same fixtures, entirely different home.

Panels & safety
The unglamorous part, done right: panel upgrades, aluminum wiring remediation, permits and inspections handled.

“The right light makes a house feel like home at any hour. That's the whole job.”
Homes we've lit
Evenings, improved.
“They spent an hour just watching how the evening light moved through our living room before suggesting a thing. Nobody does that.”
“Our kitchen went from interrogation room to the place everyone gathers. The dimmer scene is called ‘souper’ and we use it nightly.”
“On time, dust-free, and the quote was the price. The panel upgrade was boring in the best way — then the lighting plan was magic.”
The studio
Electricians with a designer's eye.
Marie Aubut apprenticed as an electrician and fell in love with the part nobody photographs: how a room feels when the light is right. She founded Lueur in 2014 with her partner Julien, and the studio has stayed deliberately small — two vans, four people, one rule.
“We never install a light we wouldn't want in our own home.”

How it works
Slow looking, then wiring.
- WalkthroughWe visit at dusk, when light matters. We watch, measure, and listen — 45 minutes, no charge.
- DesignA layered lighting plan with a fixed quote. You approve every fixture before we order.
- InstallClean, quiet work. We dim every scene with you before we leave, and hand you the cheat sheet.
