A year in
the garden
A garden is never finished. It is tended. Our work follows the year, not the invoice: four seasons, four chapters, one garden that looks better every year.
April – May
Spring
The ground wakes up hungry. We clean, we divide, we plant, and the whole year gets decided in about six weeks.
In the ground
- Clean-up and bed edging
- Dividing perennials
- New plantings and sod
What we do
- Spring clean-up visits
- Planting plans drawn to your light
- Sod and new beds installed
Spring books up by March. Early notes get the best dates.
June – August
Summer
The garden is showing off and asking for very little. We keep it honest: sharp edges, tuned water, and a lawn that never sees chemicals.
In the ground
- Pruning and deadheading
- Irrigation tuning
- Lawn care, organically
What we do
- Seasonal tending visits
- Irrigation installed and tuned
- Summer pruning rounds
A tended garden in August looks effortless. It is not. That is the point.
September – October
Autumn
The garden pays its debts. We plant the spring you will thank us for, tuck everything in, and let the leaves do their work where they fall.
In the ground
- Bulb planting for spring
- Winter protection
- Leaf mulch, not bagging
What we do
- Fall put-to-bed service
- Bulb planting by the hundred
- Winter protection for tender plants
Leaves are free fertilizer. We mulch them in place and skip the bags.
November – March
Winter
The garden sleeps and we draw. Winter is when next year's beds get designed, fruit trees get pruned, and the snow gets managed.
In the ground
- Snow and ice management
- Planning next year's beds
- Pruning fruit trees
What we do
- Winter planning sessions
- Snow contracts, done quietly
- Fruit tree pruning
The best gardens are drawn in January and planted in May.
